China, an ancient and mysterious
land, with its resplendent history and culture, abundant in varieties
of plants, animals, and countless historical interests, appeals to
tourists and business travelers. As the Beijing 2008 Olympic and Paralympic
Games approaching, more and more foreigners, including those with
disabilities, will visit China.
China Accessible Travel, a new project launched by the China Administration
of Sports for Persons with Disabilities (CASPD) and China Travel Service
Head Office (CTS), provides travel services for the slow walkers,
the physically and developmentally challenged and their able bodied
companions. In cities such as Beijing, Xi'an, Shanghai and Guilin,
the recommended accessible attractions, accommodations and restaurants
have been inspected and graded according to our rigid assessment criteria.
We have a sufficient number of comfortable vans and coaches equipped
with ramps or lifts for wheelchair users. Besides professional foreign
language speaking tour guides, well-trained personal-care assistants
accompany those requiring these services throughout the travel. |
